We will be migrating our cold storage to a new address over the coming week. We are sharing the new address and outlining the process to ensure that our clients can continue to verify our Proof of Reserves.

Why are we doing this?

As our assets under custody scale, we will be routinely changing our custody address for reasons such as key rotation and upgrades to the custody architecture. This is a controlled process we have gone through several times; we are now communicating it more broadly for public visibility.

No action is required for River clients.

Our new cold storage address will be bc1qysj2w7xsw09datsy9mt9x50jn7qjd6qde6d66qm3ce0a4y9uzdpqcavdr0.

You will see Bitcoin moving into this address from our current cold storage address (bc1qk7fy6qumtdkjy765ujxqxe0my55ake0zefa2dmt6sjx2sr098d8qf26ufn) over the coming week.

Note that clients will not be sending or receiving funds from this address directly, as it is only used by River. Clients will continue to use the standard send and receive flow in the River app.

Once the migration is complete, we will perform a new proof of reserves. As always, you will be able to verify this at river.com/reserves.
